What should I wear?

You will get more out of your sauna session if you dress in a way that is conducive to sweating. A sweatshirt, sweatpants and socks are ideal. If that's not your style you're welcome to wear one of our provided robes. In order to extend the life of the sauna it is important that bare skin not come in contact with the wood interior of the sauna.

Is this similar to a traditional sauna/Finnish sauna?

The infrared sauna provides a gentle, comfortable heat. It typically operates at a lower temperature than a traditional sauna, yet it is proven to raise core body temperature much more efficiently. Most people find it relaxing and easy to breathe within this type of sauna. The infrared sauna is easier to use and typically much more enjoyable than a traditional sauna.

How much will I sweat?

You probably won't sweat much in the beginning. In fact, don't be surprised if you don't really sweat at all the first couple of sauna sessions. Your body learns to sweat more efficiently with subsequent sessions.

Should I buy a 30 or 60 minute session?

If you have not been using a sauna consistently elsewhere we recommend you begin with the 30 minute session and work your way up to the 60.

Can I shower after my session?

Yes, one shower is available in the sauna room. Robes, slippers, towels, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is provided.

Who shouldn't use the sauna?

If you are or might be pregnant you should not use the sauna. Do not use the far infrared sauna without consulting your physician if you are or have: on prescription drugs, fever, sensitive to heat, over age 65, cardiovascular conditions, pacemaker/defibrillator, alcohol/alcohol abuse, joint injury (do not heat 48 hours after injury), hemophiliac/ prone to bleeding, chronic conditions/disease associated with reduced ability to sweat. If any condition worsens after using Infrared Sauna, use should be discontinued immediately and consult with your health care provider.
